  so, i finally decided to become a member and make my first post .

  a bit about me:.

  i've been lurking around the forum for quite some time (about 6 months i think).

  at the site, click on the pictures to read lengthy diatribes against apostates lol.. apostasy "seeing oneself as a victim denied" .

  as a result of seeing oneself as a victim denied, there can occur a powerful drive toward disaffection and apostasy.

  as is almost inevitably the case, there is a great need on the part of a leave-taker to validate their oppositional stance, and the victim-victimizer scenario greatly assists a person in justifying their course of action.

  Lost best friend...

  so i am not even out yet and i feel as though i have already lost my best friend.. i asked her if i could use her as a reference on an apartment rental if i decide to go the route of separation from my husband.

  she knows all of what i went through in my marriage and how much pain and suffering that i have endured.. at first she said yes, no problem, then she asked if i would be speaking to the elders about it, and i said no, she asked why not, i said that is my choice to do or not do.. her response was that i pray and speak to the elders and that she thinks it best that i don't use her as a reference because she would feel that she was supporting my decision to separate.

  i said fine but i also said that her response seems to be more of a concern about me speaking to the elders rather than being concerned for my well being.

  It hurts! When I left my husband I got a wide array of reactions. From "what took you so long" to immediate shunning

  The one that hurt the most was like yours. I thought my best friend called and went off on how dissapointed she was at me and angry She knew my marriage was difficult but couldn't see any reason for me to leave. I was fighting depression and she pushed me right into it for a while. I got out and you too will find peace. Do what YOU need to do and try not to let what others think stop you.

  Who have you lost?

  i was just thinking the other day how small our family is now that we aren't jw's.

  we are thankful that we at least have our children!

  my husband lost his mom and dad and only sister and her husband and all their children.

  Are Elders waking up to TTATT?

  the obvious answer to that is: yes!

  jwn has a number of former elders who awakened to ttatt while they held their position, and a handful of current elders who help provide needed intel.. .

  later, i learned he and his wife had faded, and both of his grown sons know ttatt as well.. .

  Explaining what DF'd means to a non-witness

  i actually had to do this twice in the past 2 weeks - and it's really shaken things up!

  the first time was last week.

  my aunt (who lives out of state) asked me how my parents were doing (her brother and my mom)?

  I worked with a JW for about 6 months till he went to Bethel Nice kid. I am open at work as the anti JW so I had to explain DF to everyone. I had to make sure he didn't find out I was an ex. It was kinda fun cuz EVERYONE was trying in there way to get him out. Didn't work

  Most of my work friends got MAD and didn't believe me how bad it was till I talked about my brother not talking to me for years!

  JW Apologists Keep Commenting

  i just posted a new article entitled "jw apologists keep commenting".

  there seems to be an influx of asleep jws that are trying to fight back against what they perceive to be threats to their faith by trying to refute our websites and forums.. several are currently making the rounds voting down webpage comments and youtube videos, as well as the dissident jw blogosphere.. here's a screengrab from the article:.

  My ex JW sister is an APOLOGIST!!!!!

  i have had a few conversations with my sister who left the org several years ago and has been dating a non jw for several years now.

  she celebrates the holidays and everything.

  so the other day i brought up some of the things i have learned since leaving.
